This gourmet pizza recipe takes your homemade pizza game to a whole new level! While it takes a bit of patience, every bite of this pizza is absolutely worth the effort, delivering a restaurant-quality crust that’s airy yet crisp, with flavors that will make you savor every slice.

Ingredients:

For the Pre-Ferment (Prepare 1 night in advance):

  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • ½ cup water
  • 1¼ cups flour

Pizza Dough:

  • 1 cup + 4½ tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 6½ tbsp water
  • Salt

Toppings:

  • Plain tomato sauce
  • Mozzarella or your choice of cheese
  • Dried oregano
  • Olive oil

Instructions:

Begin by making your pre-ferment. In a bowl, combine yeast and water; let sit for 5 minutes. Add flour and mix (no kneading needed). Cover and leave overnight in a dark place.

For the dough, combine flour, honey, and water in a stand mixer and knead for 5 minutes. Add salt and remaining water, knead another 5 minutes until smooth and stretchy. The dough should be wet but not tear easily.

Lightly oil your surface and gently fold the dough several times, forming it into a ball. Let it rest, ideally overnight in the fridge for enhanced flavor.

Preheat your oven to the highest setting. Stretch dough by hand, making it thinner in the center and thicker at the edges. Top with tomato sauce, mozzarella (or other cheese), oregano, and a drizzle of olive oil.

Bake at maximum temperature (around 220°C/430°F) until crispy and golden brown.
