Ingredients For the Base:

  • 350g Oreos (crushed)
  • 125g unsalted or salted butter (melted)

For the Filling:

  • 250g thick ready-made salted caramel sauce

For the Topping:

  • 230g dark chocolate (chopped)
  • 280ml double cream

For the Spiderweb Decoration:

  • 40g white chocolate (melted)
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) double cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base:
    • Crush the Oreos into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a sealed bag and rolling with a pin.
    • Mix the crumbs with melted butter until well combined.
    • Press the mixture firmly into a 9” loose-bottom pie dish to form an even crust. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to set.
  2. Add the Filling:
    • Spread the salted caramel sauce evenly over the chilled Oreo crust.
    • Return to the refrigerator to firm up while preparing the ganache.
  3. Make the Chocolate Ganache:
    • Heat the double cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
    • Pour the hot cream over the chopped dark chocolate and let sit for 1-2 minutes.
    • Stir gently until smooth and glossy.
    • Pour the ganache over the caramel layer, spreading evenly.
  4. Create the Spiderweb Design:
    • Mix the melted white chocolate with double cream until smooth.
    • Using a piping bag or a small ziplock bag with the corner snipped, pipe circles on the ganache, starting from the center and moving outward.
    • Use a toothpick to drag lines from the center to the edges, creating a spiderweb effect.
  5. Chill and Serve:
    • Refrigerate the tart for at least 2 hours until fully set.
    • Slice and serve chilled. Enjoy this spooky, sweet treat!

Tips for Success

  • Use high-quality dark chocolate for a rich and intense ganache.
  • If you prefer a softer caramel, warm it slightly before spreading.
  • Practice the spiderweb design on parchment paper first to perfect your technique.

Why This Recipe Works

The contrast between the crunchy Oreo crust, silky caramel, and creamy ganache makes this dessert a textural delight. The salted caramel balances the sweetness of the chocolate, while the playful spiderweb design adds a festive touch. Quick to assemble and visually stunning, it’s a must-have for your Halloween party table.
